Ethan Hardy Ltd is Born

Khalid / February 26th, 2009 / No Comments

As I slowly climb up the industry ladder and begin to generate a small yet commendable revenue network, I decided to start a new company that will be used to conduct business through. Sometimes I buy or sell websites/names in the four figure range and it would be wiser to put them through a business rather than using my personal accounts.

By operating through a business, it also shows I am an established, reputable entrepreneur and it will allow me to expand my operations easier and quicker. Smaller things, such as asking advertisers to pay into a business account will look more professional too.

Why the name “Ethan Hardy“? Ethan Hardy are two easy to spell names that translate into Strong and Courageous. “Psyched Media“, the previous name I used, was harder to spell, pronounce and limited my business operations to media only, whereas a generic name allows me to invest, buy and sell in multiple areas easily.

You can learn more about the business at the Ethan Hardy website.

Good luck with your persuits,

Khalid.

Dry Spell

Khalid / February 22nd, 2009 / No Comments

The economy hasn’t really caught up with the internet/domain world and nobody I know (touch wood), seems to be in any great financial difficulty. What I have noticed is that the market has dried up a little, with less sales and more people doing “reverse auctions” to attempt to generate some interest.

Whilst domainers and webmasters aren’t suffering (aside from a drop in ppc earnings), they are certainly being more cautious. Cash is a king and buyers are picking up sites for 10-12 x monthly revenue rather than the usual 24- 36!

If you are in a comfortable position my advice would be to close the hatches and ride out the storm. That’s why I’m doing whilst funding my projects from my full time job and savings.

Good luck with your persuits,

Khalid.

Another Acquisition

Khalid / February 16th, 2009 / No Comments

Shortly after bagging my first generic name, Rob and I decided to go halfers on Chiropractor.co.uk, sold for a nice four figures. Although search traffic for this name is not huge, there is fantastic potential and the domain is 12 years old!

The domain market has not yet tumbled under the pressures of the global economic crisis, so fingers crossed my revent investments will hold their value (and increase!).

Good luck with your persuits,

Khalid.

January 2009 Earnings

Khalid / February 4th, 2009 / No Comments

January was a much better month in terms of PPC revenue, and with the acquisition of Kefalonia I managed to sign up one advertiser at £600 per year. I’ll split this revenue to £50 per month to show consistency. Here’s a breakdown of my earnings…

  • Private Advert: £50 per month for 12 month’s = $75
  • Google Adsense: $196.58
  • Text Link Ads: $24.33
  • Media Jump: $7.52
  • Adversal: $2.94
  • Total: $306.37 – Daily Average: $9.88

Although this is down from last month, the earnings above are from adverts and not website sales. February will be even better (fingers crossed!) and I’ll hit $10 a day = 10% of my goal. Although nearly a year has gone by, if I can make a good go at it and hit 25% by month 12 then I’ll be very happy. Slowly but surely :)

Good luck with your persuits,

Khalid.
