Domain Portfolio Expanding

Khalid / March 25th, 2009 / 4 Comments

I’ve been busy working away at a few new projects this week, particularly sunroom and driveway paving. My domain portfolio is slowly expanding and I’m weeding out all the names I no longer wish to have. It’s not that they are bad names, it’s just that I don’t have time to maintain smaller sites or ones in different markets.

Check our my portfolio and keep reading for more updates soon!

Good luck with your persuits,

Khalid.

Hilarious Out of Office Messages

Khalid / March 20th, 2009 / No Comments

Here’s a few links that made me laugh…

  1. I am currently away from my desk, beating my head against the wall. Your message will be replied to once I have reached a level of numbness sufficient to cloud my vision to the point I am able to formulate an appropriate response to your request.
  2. I am currently out at a job interview and will reply to you if I fail to get the position. Be prepared for my mood.
  3. You are receiving this automatic notification because I am out of the office. If I was in, chances are you wouldn’t have received anything at all.
  4. I will be unable to delete all the unread, worthless emails you send me until I return from holiday on (enter date). Please be patient and your mail will be deleted in the order it was received.
  5. Thank you for your email. Your credit card has been charged $5.99 for the first ten words and $1.99 for each additional word in your message.
  6. The e-mail server is unable to verify your server connection and is unable to deliver this message. Please restart your computer and try sending again. (The beauty of this one is that when you return, you can see how many in-duh-viduals did this over and over).
  7. Thank you for your message, which has been added to a queuing system. You are currently in 352nd place, and can expect to receive a reply in approximately 19 weeks.
  8. I’ve run away to join a different circus.
  9. I will be out of the office for the next 2 weeks for medical reasons. When I return, please refer to me as ‘Margaret’ instead of Phil.’

These made me chuckle :)

Quietly Plodding Along

Khalid / March 16th, 2009 / 2 Comments

Apologies for the lack of posts recently, I’ve nothing major to report. I’m contiuing to invest in a few generic names and have a couple of options in the pipeline which I’ll cover in future posts.

In other news I decided to resign from my post at my current job and persue other ventures. The decision was not an easy one as I enjoy the people I work with but, due to company circumstances, there was not much more I could do.

The Abbey National is still to setup my business bank account, it feels like ages since I’ve heard anything! I am not patient when I have business to conduct!

Oh and I’m becoming a twitter addict, I need to stop that!

Good luck with your persuits,

Khalid.

Kefalonia.co.uk SOLD!

Khalid / March 5th, 2009 / 2 Comments

That’s right. After listing the site for sale with a view of gaining mid to high four figure offers, I received an e-mail enquiry asking if it was still for sale. After some negociating I can confirm the domain + site have been sold with a return of 775%!

I’m very pleased as I felt with Kefalonia, despite it being a fantastic site, it had constraints and I want to step my investments up a gear. It was a recent acquisition and just shows you can still earn money in flipping, should that be your chosen path.

Just thought I’d share my good news :)

Good luck with your persuits,

Khalid.

February 2009 Earnings – One Year On

Khalid / March 2nd, 2009 / 2 Comments

One year has passed since I began my $100 a day challenge and what an adventure it has been. I profited heavily when I sold my tattoo network, became debt free and realised that I should stick to what I was good at. I dabbled in different markets, including domain leasing and joint ventures.

On occasions I had to cut my losses and make new aquisitions, whilst finding a new job and continuing my persuits despite my ill health. Sometimes you just have to go hard or go home.

So, how did I do?

Well, I’m not at $100 a day yet but you cannot put a price on the wealth of information I have accumulated over the past 12 months. I feel I have made some real improvements in my personal and business life, and slowly began to build a profitable business on strong foundations.

Whilst I still have a long way to go, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and know that I need to “stop chasing and start racing” – I need to put a hold on fly-by-night ideas and research my ideas before investing in them. I need to stop wishing I could be like others and start being like me, putting words in action and becoming the full time Internet Entrepreneur I want to be.

In an uncertain economy during uncertain times, it would also be wise for me to save a little and not put all my eggs in one basket.

I shall save the rest of the motivation speech for another time, here’s a breakdown of the results…

  • Google Adsense – $294.46
  • Private Advert – £50 = $75
  • Text Link Ads – $21.53
  • Media Jump – $6.49
  • Adversal – $1.88
  • Search Engine Optimisation Consultation – £250 = $356.87
  • Domain Sales – £200 = $285
  • Total: $1041.23
  • There’s only 28 days in February, daily average: $37.18.
  • Daily average from ad networkds only $14.26

Considering there was no website sales I am proud my, majority ppc, daily average is increasing. I’m happy with the results and I’m continuing to work hard in a bid to achieve my dream.

Good luck with your persuits,

Khalid.
