Taking Precautions
In a chat the other day with my father – a successful businessman in his own right – he advised me that sometimes I am too nice and tend to give too much away on occasions. Whilst I like to be honest about how I make money online, I appreciate that sometimes not keeping your cards close to your chest can have a negative impact on certain aspects of running a business.
Whilst I strive to become a successful Internet Entrepreneur, I am just an ordinary guy with a passion for building and developing websites. I hold down a job in a field that utilises these skills and serve multiple clients in a variety of fields. I have this blog to keep an online diary of my weekly activities and how I am getting on with my $100 a day challenge. People like to read it and I like to use it as a means of recording my success or failure – nothing more, nothing less. Occasionally I’ll rant but it is never directed personally at someone.
Family, friends, colleagues and prospective clients read this blog and I am aware I can be easily Google’d! I reiterate; I have nothing to hide. If anyone was to ask me a specific question I’d provide them with an honest answer, unless it was to create a conflict of interest.
I hope this clears up the matter.
Good luck with your persuits,
Khalid.
Insurance Dilema
I recently picked up contents insurance for my flat as I felt I should really protect my possessions, especially as I treated myself to a new lcd tv recently (potential burglars – nothing worth stealing!).
After shopping around I found managed to find a deal under £100 for the year which wasn’t too bad. It is one thing off my mind but it made me think of my personal situation. Nobody wants to think of the worst happening, but as I build my business and invest more and more, I am wondering whether or not to get life insurance.
Whilst I could sell a few domains/sites if I needed cash, I probably would end up losing as it would be a quick sale and it is not really a security. Although most insurance policies are worthless, life insurance is something I have thought about before but never gotten round to investigating.
There are plenty of life insurance choices, such as critical illness cover or term life insurance, but I’m not sure what to go for, or if I should even buy it.
Fellow entrepreneurs….have you got life insurance?
Good luck with your persuits,
Khalid.
Sickening
As you may or may not know, part of my ambition is to move abroad and this is for multiple reasons. Whilst I appreciate the free education and health care available to us in the UK – amongst other things – I find it difficult to stomach that the idiotic UK government spent more on benefits in 2008-2009 than they did on education or health care!

I fully believe in supporting those that are in need of assistance, for example people who cannot work due to a severe disability or are elderly. But to the thousands that claim benefits illegally, estimated at £800 million in 2005, I fucking hate you.
Sorry for the rant, but I absolutely hate layabouts and people that think that the UK owe them a living. Get a fucking job, I have two!
Khalid.
Time Out

I decided to book a holiday with my girlfriend this week, so we’re heading to the Algarve in Portugal for 7 days of sun, sea and sand. It’s not the first time I’ve been to Portugal, and I usually like to visit a new place each year, but we got a cracking deal for the time we could go. £500 for a week in a 4 star hotel, with our own apartment, all inclusive, flying to and from Edinburgh (my home city) at great times.

My good friend Stephen has also planned a weekend to Dusseldof in June to watch the Haye vs. Klitschko boxing match. Again another great deal; £100 for flights to and from Edinburgh, staying in a 4 star hotel for two nights. And the price includes entry to the fight.
So two great holidays at two great prices, job done!
Good luck with your persuits,
Khalid.
