Review of BuyBlogComments.com

Khalid / May 18th, 2009 / 6 Comments

On April 16th I decided to test Jon Warass’ BuyBlogComments.com, part of his Developer-Hut.com network. His website certainly raves about their benefits yet I was slightly skeptical, especially as a number of people had posted negative reviews and many industry folk deemed it as grey/black hat seo.

I paid for 80 comments at a cost of $19.19 and patiently waited for a report. On May 1st I sent a support ticket requesting an update as the system stated my order would be completed by then.

I received a generic reply stating they were busy and so I waited again.  On May 8th I sent another support ticket and received no reply.

I then requested a refund via their online system and today received an e-mail from Paypal stating that their e-mail address: sales@developer-hut.com was not in use and so I automatically received a refund.

It took me over one month to receive nothing but an automated refund as the e-mail address they are using for Paypal money transfers are not in use.

In short, I would definately not recommend their service.

Good luck with your pursuits,

Khalid.

Another Week Gone By

Khalid / August 8th, 2008 / 9 Comments

After another tiring week has gone by, I’ve managed to hammer out another two sites and build some backlinks for another two. I’m really aiming for building a network of quality content sites with useful information – nothing that is cheap, tacky and made for Adsense. By the end of the month I want to have 10 really good content sites, building another 5-10 each month thereafter.

I’m dabbling in article marketing and invested a few hundred dollars in quality articles and submitted them to two different sites. The annoying thing is that they take up to 14 days to be approved which seems like an age, but when you are getting a permanent backlink (or two!) from a PR6 site for the price of a 500 word article ($10), you can’t really complain.

In other news, I nearly lost my blog again! Well, actually, I had a backup so it wasn’t too bad! The WordPress “wp-content” folder just disappeared and left my blog as a blank page. So I rushed to LiquidWeb.com’s online chat and immediately got an incoming call to my mobile from the States. The technical support checked the access logs to ensure nothing serious had occured like a hack, grabbed the backup and restored the “wp-content” folder whilst keeping my on the line. This is why I love Liquid Web. Which other web host would do that for you, any time of the day from another country?

Have a nice weekend and good luck with your persuits,

Khalid.

Back Online

Khalid / November 6th, 2007 / No Comments

I guess you are all wondering what happened to my entire blog, all the posts and content? If you are new to KhalidsLife.com you may not be aware that my blog had diminshed to nothing. Well, in a nutshell, a hard drive failure and no backups despite being told by my previous hosting company that they take daily and weekly backups.

As a result of the failure, disgusting customer service and a lack of faith in any future support I may receive from the hosting company, Host Nine, I decided to move hosts and start again. So here I am, back at square one. Understandably, I was angry and upset I lost everything, but there’s no point crying over spilt milk and some onus was on me as a webmaster to take my own backups. My full review here explains it all.

Today

I am not with a more reputable hosting company who have given me fantastic support so far and are always willing to go above and beyond their regular duties to help. I’d recommend Liquid Web to anyone who is in need of a reliable host with excellent support.

The Future

I am constantly working day and night, before and after work, even during my lunch break, to build my websites and help them grow. These investments are long term and I have no plans to sell them in the immediate future. My aim is to build three revenue streams each generating £50 per month profit. Everyday that target nears closer to reality. Upon achieving it, my plans are to double it and continue with my entrepreneurial persuits until I reach my ultimate goal…to live off my website earnings.
